STERLING, KS: Dona J. Hand, age 79, a resident of Sterling for 13 years and formerly of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away August 23, 2014 at The Arbors at Waldron Place, Hutchinson, KS. She was born May 16, 1935 in Marietta, Ohio to Howard and Mildred Gregory Wellspring Sr. She graduated from Zanesville High School and from Freede-Hardeman College, Henderson, Tennessee. Dona was a retired secretary and teacher. She was a member of Church of Christ, Sterling. Dona married Robert H. Hand on November 6, 1959 in Zanesville, Ohio. Her husband preceded her in death October 3, 2008. She is survived by son, Steven G. Hand, Two Rivers, WI; daughter, Lynette K. and Lance Frederick, Alden; two grandchildren, Kassidy and Karly Frederick. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Howard Wellspring Jr. and her twin brother, Donald Wellspring Private Funeral Service were held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Church of Christ, Sterling, officiated by Matt Fowler and Mark Tremaine. Burial will be in Alden Valley Cemetery, Alden. |
