About | Donna Lee Black, age 86, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Country Club Retirement Campus. She was born on February 25, 1930 in Zanesville to the late Clarence and Margaret (Whikehart) Miller. Donna enjoyed spending her time as a longtime volunteer at the Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville. She was also a huge sports fan and enjoyed watching football, basketball and the Cleveland Browns. She loved watching NASCAR and cheering for Jeff Gordon, and she even got to ride in a NASCAR stock car. Donna also loved watching horse racing and attending the Kentucky Derby yearly and enjoyed some quiet time reading. Donna is survived by her three children, Paul W. “Bill” (Shari) Black II, Susan E. (Mike) Black and Douglas J. Black; two grandchildren, Preston Paul (Fiancé Laura Savarin) Black and Megan Manley; a great-granddaughter, Adriana Black; brothers, Delmar Miller and Larry (Kay) Miller, and a sister-in-law, Sharon Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. “Bill” Black, and a brother Doug Miller. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Lasater Funeral Home, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in Zanesville Memorial Park with Pastor Russ Gumm officiating. |
