BRADENTON, FL: Dorothy Brauning Hill, age 93, a former Zanesville resident, died at Freedom Village, Bradenton, FL on July 28, 2015. Dot was the wife of a well-known Zanesville dentist, the late, Dr. William B. "Bill" Hill, who died October 8, 2010. She was buried next to her husband at the National Military Cemetery, Sarasota, FL. Dot will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Known by her generous and fun-loving spirit, she was a graduate of Lash High School and Meredith Business College. A lover of golf and biking, Dot was also an exceptional tennis player and the recipient of a Gold Medal in the Senior Olympics. An avid friend of the outdoors, she was recognized by her beautiful flower gardens and Holiday celebrations. Dot was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ, Green Thumb Garden Club, Zanesville Country Club Planning Committee and various other organizations. Her husband, Bill; son, Dr. Geoffrey B."Jeff' Hill, M.D.; and beloved grandson, Steven; brothers, John F. and Robert C. Brauning; and her parents, John F. and Elizabeth Haessler Brauning preceded her in death. Surviving are her daughters, Diane Monroe, Bradenton, Billie Ann Prosser, Asheville, NC, and Julie Ann Hill, Lexington, KY; brother, Dr. Donald R. Brauning, Nashport; daughter-in-law, Beverly Hill, Bradenton; three grandsons, two great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. |
