About | Dorothy J. Cook, 87, of Zanesville, passed away at 1:35 a.m. Tue. Sept. 18, 2018 at the Helen Purcell Home. She was born on Aug. 30, 1931 in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Patrick and Wava (Harmon) Coffey. She was a member of Rolling Plains United Methodist Church and the Christian Women’s Group. She also volunteered at Genesis, enjoyed golfing, playing euchre and line dancing. She is survived by two sons Roger (Becky) Cook and William (Melissa) Cook. Four grandchildren Shane (Amy) Jackson, Whitney (Eddie) Newsom, Andrew Cook, Adam (Katie) Cook. Two great-grandchildren Paige and Zoie Jackson. Three sisters Bernice Osborne, Jane (Frank) Tignor, and Judy Archer. One brother Richard (Anita) Coffey. One sister-in-law Carolyn Coffey. One brother-in-law Kent King. Special friends Nancy Rider Olmstead, June Smith, and Ruth Hartman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Cook who died Dec. 8, 1999. One brother Rolland Coffey.
