About | Mrs. dorothy Alice Slack, wife ofHarold T. Slack, dean of boys, a head ZHS basketball coach, died at 11:30 am, Saturday, September 22,1962 at Bethesda Hospital, where she had been a patient for three days. She was employed at the corporate offices of the Mosaic Tile company untill her illness and was active in church and civic affairs. She was born in Zanesville, June 7, 1904, a daughter of Harry and Carolina Miller Maneely. Mrs. Slack was amember of the Immanuel United Church of Christ, the Deborah Circle, the Women's Guild of the church and the Beta Sigma Class. She taught in the church school 30 years and was secretary of the board of Christian Eduacation at the church. She was past president of the Blue Triangle Club at the YWCA and was serving as secretary at the organization at the time of her death. Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Stanley of Washington DC, and Spencer of the home; a daughter, Sharon of the home; a twin sister, Mrs Doris Chernan of Munster,lndiana, two other sisters, Mrs. Emil Johnson of Columbus and Mrs. Elsie Leasure of St. Louis, MO; two brothers, Raymond Maneely of Cleveland and Carl Maneely of Coraopolis, PA; and a grandson, Randy of Washington DC. Burial will be in Memorial Park. |
