| About | Douglas Anderson ''Doug'' Moorehead, 61, of Zanesville, died 5:58 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital following a sudden illness. He was born Monday, February 16, 1948 in Zanesville the son of Thomas V. Moorehead and Helen Louise (Anderson) Moorehead and attended Cornerstone Full Gospel Church. Doug was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam Conflict where he served as a Path Finder. He was a graduate of The Capital University School of Law and was a practicing attorney for over 30 years. He also served as Law Director for the City of Zanesville. With over 22 years of sobriety, Doug was very active in A.A. and was an avid supporter of the Alley Group. He loved boating, gardening and his motorcycle. Doug is survived by three sons: Chad (Julie) Moorehead of Dresden, Jason Moorehead of Imperial Beach, CA and Derrick Moorehead of Zanesville; two grandchildren: Anna and Joey Moorehead; one brother: Thomas V. ''Tom'' (Sandy) Moorehead, of Westerville; one sister: Jan (Dr. Gottlieb ''Bud'') Friesinger of Nashville, TN; several nieces, nephews; and his companion: Melanie Dunlap of Zanesville. In addition to his parents; Doug was preceded in death by his wife: Bobbi Waller Moorehead; one sister and brother-in-law: Joan and Bill Johnson. Friends may call two hours prior to funeral services from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. today, Saturday, January 23 at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Harrop officiating. Burial will follow in Duncan Falls Cemetery with VFW Post 1058 conducting Full Military Honors. |
