About | Edward D. Baker, 75, of 1950 Normandy Drive died at 12:30 am Tuesday, March 21, 1972, at Shields Nursing Home after a long illness. Mr. Baker was a retied realtor and for many years was employed in Men's clothing stores here. In the mid 1920s he was vice president of the old Baker Motor Company on North Sixth St., and agency for Durant and Star automobiles. The firm later sold the Rickenbacker automobile. A native of Zanesville, Mr. Baker was born July 26, 1896, a son of George and Anna Duerr Baker. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Elks Lodge, Zanesville country Club and attended Ohio University where he was a 50 year member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He was also a veteran of WWI. Surviving are his widow, the former Ruth Heffernan; and a number of cousins. Burial will be in Memorial Park. |
