About | Edward "Eddie" L. Shultz, 75, of Mansfield, died Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Hospice House in Ashland. Born April 14, 1939 in Zanesville, Ohio, he was one of eight children of Richard E. and Rosemary I. (Wyatt) Shultz. Eddie was a hard worker who was dedicated to his business, Eddie's Sunoco, and successfully owned and managed it for many years. Some may have mistook him as a "hard" soul, but, as his friends and family knew, he had a soft heart and a very generous nature. He enjoyed sports, especially bowling at King Lanes and Lex Lanes. Eddie also enjoyed late model dirt track racing and driving his motor home to the races. He never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Linda J. Bishop Shultz; a son, Brett Shultz; daughter, Tonya (Ken) Fields; three grandchildren, Bradley (Elizabeth) Fields, Leslie Fields and Melissa (Dalton) Bays; six great-grandchildren, Jamie, Leah, Carson and Carter Fields and Ava and Tanner Bays; two brothers, George I. Shultz and Richard L. Shultz; five sisters, Carrie JoAnn Linley, Betty Jane Griffin, Patsy Ann McCoy, Carol Sue Burns and Donna Jean Burns; several nieces and nephews; and many other family members and good friends. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Windsor Park Cemetery. |
