About | Edward J. “Big Ed” Harper, 69, of Zanesville, died at 12:44 P.M. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Genesis Hospice Morrison-House. He was born January 8, 1954, in Zanesville, son of Beulah (Bronkar) Harper and the late James Harper. Ed worked for Ohio Machinery and Harper’s Dyna-Kleen, he was a member of the First Baptist Church, South Zanesville, where he did volunteer lawn maintenance work. He loved Civil War and WWll History, to read, and enjoyed playing trivia games. He was an avid fan of The Cincinnati Reds, The Bengals, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. In addition to his mother he is survived by his sister Marcy (Charlie) White; his canine buddy, Gus; and many cousins and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his father. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 27, 2023, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville, with Pastor David Nuhfer officiating.
