Date of Passing Mar 02, 2013
About GOODYEAR, AZ: Eleanor Jean Forker, 87, passed away on March 2, 2013, at Hospice of the Valley in Goodyear, AZ. She was born in Zanesville on December 5, 1925, the last of 12 children born to James and Inez Smith Forker.

Eleanor attended Lash High School, was a longtime employee of Shirley's Pharmacy and a member of Market Street Baptist Church. She loved baseball games and stock car races, country music and gospel. She loved singing with her sisters, "the Forker girls." She loved her family and friends and they will sorely miss her.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, James, Perry, Charles and Bernard; and sisters, Mary Hutchinson, Altha Huey, Dorothy Clift and Ollie Hazen.

She is survived by her sister, Alma Mautz of Zanesville; and many loving nieces and nephews and their families.

Since 1999, she had made her home with her niece, Karen Johnson, living first in California and then in Goodyear, AZ She delighted in the company of her great-niece and namesake, Ellie Johnson. She enjoyed family excursions to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and throughout California and marveled at sights she never thought she would see. She was a trooper with a heart of gold.

Specials thanks to the staff of Palm Valley Rehab and Care Center for the love and kindness shown to Eleanor, in the past two years, and to the staff of Hospice of the Valley, who eased her pathway home.

A celebration of Eleanor's life is being planned. Friends and family can offer condolences to her sister, Alma Mautz, at Willowhaven Care Center, 1020 Taylor St, Zanesville, OH 43701.
