About | Elizabeth Ann ''Betsy'' Boggs, 82, of Zanesville, died 9:40 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Primrose Retirement Community. She was born Thursday, February 16, 1928 in Zanesville, the daughter of Edward Corey Boggs and Edith Marie (Emerson) Boggs. Betsy was a 1951 graduate of Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing receiving her BS in Nursing. She received her MA in Counseling from Ohio University. She served as a Nurse, Family Life Educator and Teacher. Betsy is survived by one niece: Molly K. Boggs of Benicia, CA; three nephews: Edward D. Boggs of Rochester, NY, Karl E. Boggs of Hopewell Junction, NY and W. Mark Boggs of Murrysville, PA; one sister-in-law: Hertha F. Boggs of Murrysville, PA. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by two brothers: Edward F. Boggs and William E. Boggs. No visitation or services will be held. Betsy's wishes were for her body to be donated to The Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine so that others could learn. Memorial contributions may be made to Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and sent to: The Betsy Boggs Endowed Scholarship Fund, Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, c/o Development Office, 525 N. Wolfe Street, SON House, Baltimore, MD 21205, Tel: (410) 955-4284. All donations will support the Betsy Boggs Endowed Scholarship Fund at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. In appreciation of the excellent education she received from the school, Betsy established the fund to help provide scholarship support to deserving nursing students. Betsy retained an active interest in the school and the nursing students throughout her life. |
