About | Elizabeth W. “Bette” Kullman, age 97, of Zanesville, passed away at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at her residence. She was surrounded by family and the loving, caring staff of the Helen Purcell Home. Mrs. Kullman was born May 1, 1919, in Zanesville, daughter of the late Carl R. Spencer and Lillian E. (Wilson) Spencer. She graduated from Lash High School and Meredith Business College, was employed by the Roseville Pottery Company, and, later, head of admitting at Bethesda Hospital. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the National Toothpick Holder Collectors Society. She loved to quilt, garden and was an avid bridge player for over fifty years. Mrs. Kullman volunteered for many organizations including Christ’s Table, Muskingum County Home and Genesis Hospice. She is survived by her two sons, Tom (Noreen) Kullman Jr., of Liberty Township, Ohio; Jon (Jessie) Kullman, of Malta; daughter, Barbara Warren, of Zanesville; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Kullman Sr.; a son, Keith Kullman; and a brother, William Spencer. Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 Thursday, November 17, 2016, at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. Services will be held 11:00 am Friday November 18, 2016, in the chapel at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 116 North 7th Street, Zanesville, Ohio 43701, with Pastor Mark Combs officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. |
