About | Eric A. Clapper, 52, of Zanesville, died at 9:45am on Monday, March 20, 2017 after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones at his home. Eric was born August 20, 1964 in Zanesville, son of Mildred Coon Clapper and the late W. Myron Clapper. Eric was a member of Central Presbyterian Church since his youth. For over 30 years, Eric was a maintenance technician at AK Steel. He was a people-person who never met a stranger. When not at AK Steel, he could be found anywhere outdoors. He loved to garden, woodwork, and hunt with his son. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Peggy Raudabaugh Clapper, and his three children: Shane Clapper (Frazeysburg, Ohio), Dr. Jamie Clapper (Ypsilanti, Michigan), and Aaron Clapper (Chicago, Illinois). Eric is also survived by his sister Margaret (Robert) Parker (Circleville, Ohio); two brothers: Tim (Nancy) Clapper (Kensington, Ohio) and Jeff (Joan) Clapper; and one brother-in-law Blair Raudabugh (Celina, Ohio). Eric is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Cremation-With-Care has taken place. Friends and family may call from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Central Presbyterian Church, 40 North Sixth Street, Zanesville, with Rev. Ray Morrison officiating. He will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery, Roseville. |
