| About | Paul Ramey of Zanesville, passed away on November 17, 2023. Eugene was born December 17, 1957, to Evelyn J. (Fisher) and Virgil Eugene Ramey. Eugene is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul Ramey and Forest (Norris) Ramey; maternal grandparents, John R. Fisher and Nora Leona (Lewis) Fisher; three aunts, Juanita (Ramey) Staunton, Hazel (Ramey) Staunton and Betty (Fisher) Sowel. Eugene leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Sheree (Ramey) Dunn; mother, Evelyn J. (Fisher) Ramey; father, Virgil Eugene Ramey; grandchildren, Rylee Washington and Brooklyn Dunn; great grandchildren, Lennox and Hendrix Birchfield; siblings, Patsy McDonald and Virgil Lee Ramey; as well as several aunts, uncles and other friends and family. Eugene was a graduate of Zanesville High School in 1976. He enjoyed playing sports in school. He played varsity in Football, Basketball, Baseball and Track and Field. He also enjoyed swimming. Eugene attended the University of Akron for one year as well as the University of Athens for one year. He was an avid fan of NASCAR Racing. He enjoyed reading and planting a garden of flowers. He had a special love for cats. He was employed by Brockway for 19 years and Goodwill corporation for 5 years. He will be missed by all that knew him. You may call on the family on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 1pm until 2pm with funeral services starting at 2pm, at Burrell Funeral Services. Cremation will follow services.
