About | Eugene Talmadge Dickinson, Jr., 86, of Nashport, Ohio passed away Friday, July 1, 2022. Eugene was born April 15, 1936 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Gertrude (Washington and Eugene T. Dickinson. In addition to his parents, Eugene is also preceded in death by a grandson, Dominic Dickinson; sisters, Helen Walden and Alene Ray; daughter, Tammy Edwards; and a nephew, Cody Dickinson. Eugene leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Jane Ann (Clapper) Dickinson; beloved children, Eugenia Dickinson, Stephanie (Jonathan) Weatherspoon, Eugene "Snoogie" Dickinson, III, Missy (Dan) Norris and Denise Dickinson; beloved step-sons, Charles Carr, Jr. and Jared A. Carr; 19 beloved grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lawrence Dickinson, Billy Dickinson and Liz Dickinson; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loved ones. Eugene was a United States Veteran, having served in the air force. He spent much of his service stationed in Japan. Eugene was an avid baseball fan and player. He played for his high school team as well as air force teams during his enlistment. In his free time, Eugene enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid Ohio sports team fan, proudly supporting OSU football and basketball, the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He also enjoyed watching boxing matches. Eugene was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. You may call on the family Friday, July 8, 2022 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., with funeral service to follow at 1 p.m., at St. Paul AME Church, 561 Pine St., in Zanesville. Reverend Clifton Kilpatrick officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. |
