Frances F. Embree Meloy, 88, a longtime resident of Zanesville, died at 5:25 pm on Monday, February 16, 2015 at her home surrounded by loved ones.Born September 15, 1926, in Zanesville, she retired in 1988 as a postal clerk in Columbus. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, crafting, playing cards, spending summers at Cotterman's Camp and winters in Florida.She is survived by one daughter, Marcia Baer of Lancaster; two sons, Timothy A. (Charlotte) Meloy of Blairsville, Georgia and William Thomas Meloy; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately known as Grandma Dilly.She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thompson Meloy, her parents, Arthur and Majel Embree, one sister and two brothers.Services will be at 1:00 pm Monday, February 23, 2015, at Washington Township Baptist Church, 5500 Church Hill Rd., Zanesville, Ohio, with Pastor Jonathan Morgan officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Washington Township Baptist Cemetery. Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to FairHoPe Hospice in Frances's memory. The family wishes to thank FairHoPe Hospice for their loving care. |
