| About | BERWICK: Frank C. Pyles 86, of Berwick, died Sunday, June, 24, 2012 at the Berwick Retirement Village II. Born in Zanesville, OH, July 14, 1925, he was the son of the late Leslie C. Pyles and Anna (Long) Pyles. Widowed from his first wife, Beatrice (Guss) Pyles who died February 5, 1979 and survived by his second wife, Ellen (Lowe) Townsend Pyles whom he married May 17, 1986. He graduated high school in Zanesville and worked for the J.J. Newberry Department Store prior to serving in the U.S. Navy in World War II. Following the war he returned to work for the J.J. Newberry Co. where he managed stores in Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Berwick Christian Church. In addition to his second wife, Ellen; he will be missed by his children, Marcia Stoudt & husband, Dave, Reading, PA, Dr. Mark Pyles & wife, Kathleen, Berwick; His grandchildren are, Matthew Cullen, NY, NY, Patricia Jean Pyles and Michael A. Pyles, both of Berwick. He is survived by his sister, Helen Pyles, Ft. Wayne, IN; and by his cousins, nieces and nephews. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut St., Berwick. |
