About | FAIRBORN: Freda E. Shoe, 92, passed away at the Dayspring Health Care Center in Fairborn, Ohio on Sunday, September 18, 2011. She was born on February 7, 1919, a daughter of the late Henry P. and Letha James and graduated from Zanesville High School Class of 1936. Freda was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church, the Semper Fideles Sunday School class, and also sang in the church choir for many years. Freda served as a C.O.A.D. Foster Grandmother at Genesis Good Samaritan Pediatric unit and at the Noah's Ark Day Care Center at Good Samaritan for over 15 years, beginning in 1990 and having a total of 12,167 hours. This definitely was a highlight of her life. Surviving are a son-in-law, Charles Powers of Fairborn, Ohio; three granddaughters, Penny Smith of Englewood, Ohio, Amy Lynn of New Carlisle, Ohio and Wendy Allen of Liberty Township, Ohio; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary L. Bogard and Rhea (Ralph) Nixon both of Zanesville; also many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Shoe, who died December 23, 1977; her daughter and only child, Bonnie J. Powers who died April 27, 2011; three brothers, Raye, Lawrence and Dale James; and two sisters, Dorothy Lynn and Neva Lyons. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery |
