| About | Gary Wayne Rush, 65, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Genesis Morrison House. Gary was born on May 20, 1959, in Zanesville to Marion and Jerusha (Christian) Rush. In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Rush, William Rush and Craig Rush and his sister, Marilyn Rush. Gary leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Shanda Rush, Lakin Pletcher, Chiquita Rush, Ebony Rush and Tisha Rush; sister, Melanie Rush; brother, Tyrone Rush; grandchildren, Regan, Thomas, Blama, Tovah, Ra’laya, Torrin, Amaya and Deshawn; several nieces and nephews; as well as several other friends and family. Gary was a 1977 graduate of Zanesville High School. Gary was married once to Marla K. Cole, a forever friend, along with her husband, Bill Cole. Gary worked for 18 years at Benco (Nestle Purina) as a supervisor, as well as 15 years at Bob Evans. Gary enjoyed spending every day with his grandkids. He also enjoyed watching Westerns and BET daily. Gary was one to always “dress to impress”. He enjoyed going on long car rides or just driving around and listening to 70’s and 80’s music. Gary also enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. Gary was known as “G” or “Snoop Dogg” to many. The family would like to thank Genesis Hospice for the peace and comfort they provided. His caregiver and friends, Ed Harris and Erica Johnson for being there for Gary and giving a listening ear and helping hand when needed. Gary will be missed by all that knew him. You may call on the family on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. with funeral services starting at 12 p.m. Cremation will follow the funeral. BURRELL |
