George L. Niethammer, 83, of Zanesville, passed away on Thursday February 16, 2023 at Genesis Hospital. He was born in Zanesville on July 3, 1939 to Wilhelm and Maria Schnieder Niethammer. George worked as a meat cutter with Big Bear Supermarkets, where he retired after 36 years. He enjoyed going to Saturday Auctions, the Goodwill and hunting. He is survived by his nephew Charles W. (Edelina) Snyder III; nieces: Edith (AJ) Jordan and Linda Niethammer; great nephews: Charles W. Snyder IV, Charles W. Snyder V, Randy Niethammer, Russel Niethammer and Andrew Jordan; great niece Christina Snyder and a cousin Lisa Havens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Fred W. Niethammer; a sister Evelyn M. Niethammer; a nephew Fred Niethammer. Calling hours will be from 10 AM to 11 AM on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 128 South Seventh Street, Zanesville. Funeral services will begin at 11 AM, with Pastor Andrew Wilson officiating. George will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery. Family |
