| About | George W. Scott, 73, of Belleview, Florida, died Monday, December 19, 2022, at Advent Health Care, Ocala, Florida. He was born July 21, 1949 in Zanesville, a son of the late Abe and Patricia Dennis Scott. He retired from Miba Bearings in McConnelsville, was a United States Army Veteran. George was an avid Bengals and Buckeyes fan, loved to fish and golf and spend time with family. Surviving are his wife, Rita Hardbarger Scott; two sons, Jeremy (Heather) Scott and Justin (Alisa) Scott; a daughter, Angel (James) Sockwell; eight grandchildren, Kyra, Michael, Brody, Brock (Jessie), Caleb, Noah, Breonna and Lyzerick; a great granddaughter, Brynlee; two brothers, Carl (Beth) Scott and Ron (Teresa) Scott; a sister, Barbara Rowland and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Curry; and a brother-in-law Pastor Terry Rowland. Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of funeral service at noon on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Pastor Donny Rowland officiating. He will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, Zanesville, with full military honors provided by the VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
