About | Gerald E. Alfman, 50 of Zanesville, died Monday, October 24, 2011. He was born Sunday, December 11, 1960 in Germany, the son of Raymond D Alfman and Ingrid H.(Baureis) Alfman. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a Zanesville High School and Akron University Alumni. He was a football star in high school and received a scholarship to play football at Akron. In his later years he enjoyed racquetball. He was an avid fan of late model racing, 4 wheeling, jet skiing and any outdoor activity. He was a successful entrepreneur and businessman with his involvement in Vista View Market, West Side Market, C Plus West Pike, Winerak, South 60 C Plus, Vista View Exxon, 146 C Plus, Wild Bills Campground and enjoyed rehabbing houses. However, the greatest of his loves was his family, friends and employees. Gerald is survived by his wife of the home: Michelle E. Bryan; three sons: Chase, Noah and Hunter; one brother: Mike & Kelly Alfman of Zanesville; one sister: Elizabeth & Gregg Taylor of Norwich; his father in law: Willard & Donna Bryan; a sister in law: Melody & Brian Mullins of San Antino, TX, a brother in law: Mark & Shari Bryan of Mc Connellsville and a sister in law: Lisa Bryan of Zanesville; several nieces and nephews including Ashton & AJ Sidwell, Morgan Alfman, Parker Alfman and Brittany Taylor and several aunts and uncles including a special aunt and uncle: Elisabeth Burrece and Eldon “Gene” Alfman and a special cousin: Christina Howard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother in law: Marianne Gibeaut, one aunt Hildegard Braun and one uncle: Helmut Baureis. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park. |
