| About | Gerald 'Jerry' L. Addis, 73, of Zanesville, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Genesis Good Samaritan CCU Zanesville OH following a sudden illness. He was born Tuesday, May 25, 1937 in Zanesville, OH the son of Charles Grover and Ada P. (Madden) Addis. He was a member of Tree of Life Christian Fellowship. Served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman. He retired in 1996 as a plumber/pipe fitter for Armco Steel after 30 years of service. Jerry enjoyed motorcycle riding, carpentry and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Sheila A. ( Powell ) Addis who he married on Saturday, May 16, 1959; four sons, Michael (Valerie) Addis of Columbus, Brian (Carol) Addis in Zanesville, Stephen (Ann) Addis of New Concord and Timothy Addis of Zanesville; 12 grandchildren, Jonathan, Christian, Nathan, Ian, Carolyn, Andrea, Caleb, Logan, Hayden, Austin, Bradley and Kendra; a great granddaughter, Braylin Grace; a brother in law, Anthony Scaduto; and a sister in Law, Carla Sue Cantor both of Zanesville; several nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. Preceded in death in addition to his parents; are four brothers Robert, Lester, George and Bill; and two sisters, Louella and Virginia. Visitation will held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27 at the Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave. and from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 28th at the Tree of Life Christian Fellowship Church, 2220 Chandlersville Rd. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. at the church immediately following the visitation with Pastor Thomas N. Hayes officiating. Local VFW Post 1058 will conduct military honors and flag presenation at the church right before service begins. Burial will conclude at a later date in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery Zanesville. |
