About | G. Joan Rucker 88, of Zanesville passed away Sunday March 20, 2016 after a lengthy illness at her home, cared for by her loving family. She was born in East Fultonham, Ohio on August 13, 1927 to the late Clayton Augustus and Thelma Moore Mauk. She was the co-owner with her husband Ace Rucker in several construction and real estate businesses. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church on Pine Street. She is survived by two sons: Mark (Ellen) Rucker of Zanesville and Dale (Brenda) Rucker of Bexley, two daughters: Jane (Dr. Joel) Melin of Pickerington and Kay Lavelle of Dublin, a sister Dorothy Swinehart of Mt. Vernon, 10 grandchildren: Brad, Wendi, Lindsay,Dr. Kyle, Ryan, Amy, Spencer, Taylor, Brianna, and Jessica, three great-grandchildren: Joey, Danny, and Alex, a brother-in-law Jim (Charlotte) Rucker, sisters-in-law: Jean Mauk, Dr.Robin Dr.(Fred) Livesay, Ann Rucker, and Cheryl Rucker. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Albert “Ace” Rucker who passed away on September 23, 2010 and a brother James Mauk. Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care 713 Forest Avenue Zanesville, Ohio 43701 Visitation will be Wednesday March 23 from 12-2pm at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery near Roseville. |
