About | Harry H. Hardesty, 99, 1575 Bowers Lane, died at 3:05pm Saturday, November 29, 2003, at Bethesda Hospital. He was boarn November 26, 1904, to William H. and Lillian Mylius Hardesty Sr. He graduated from Lash High School in 1923 and attended Denison University and The Ohio State University, where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. His early life was spent as a partner with his father and two brothers in the retail grocery business. In 1939 he joined Manley Thompson Sr. in the Thompson & Hardesty Insurance Agency. In 1958, the name was changed to Hardesty Insurance Inc. His son joined him in the agency in 1956 and Mr. Hardesty retired in 1993. Mr. Hardesty was a member of the University Club, Rotary Club, Zanesville Country Club, Grace United Methodist Church, Amity Lodge ( he was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason), Zanesville Elks Club and the Old Zane Club. He served as a board member of the American Red Cross, Grace United Methodist Church, Bethesda Hospital, Rambo Health Center and the Elmwood Cemetery Corp. of Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers, two sisters and his wife, Julia Colley Hardesty. He is survived by his children, Richard (Barbara) Hardesty of Zanesville and Julie (Richard) Helland of Columbus: four grandchildren: and three great=grandchildren. Burial wil be in Zanesvillel Memorial Park Cemetery. |
