Harry L. Frame Obituary

Graduation Year Class of 1945
Date of Passing Oct 25, 2009
About Harry L. "Red" Frame, age 82, of Zanesville, passed away at 2 a.m. Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Morrison House Hospice.

He was born September 15, 1927 in Zanesville to the late Harry H. and Margaret (Miller) Frame.
Harry was a WWII era veteran of the US Navy; his ship was the USS Sicily.
He was a graduate of Lash High School Class of 1945. He also graduated from Automotive Technical School and Diesel Specialty School in Cleveland. He owned and operated Red Frame's Auto Service for over 40 years at three locations in the Zanesville area, including, Schaum Avenue, Dillon Falls, and Licking View. Automobiles were his love; he once said that a smooth running automobile was like the sound of a violin to him. He was an excellent diagnostician with a reputation for fixing cars with the most difficult problems.
He was also a near-charter member of the Falls Township Fire Department, joining in 1963 and participating for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, NASCAR races, and jigsaw puzzles. After retirement, he loved being around his house and yard and taking care of his late beloved Boston Terrier, Zipper and his cats, Shorty and Grey, who dogged his footsteps everywhere. Most people will remember him by the pipe he was always smoking and the various ballcaps he wore.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Brown) with whom he shared 61 years of marriage; a daughter, Dr. Cynthia Frame (Dr. Bruce) Bongarten of Fayetteville, NY; a granddaughter, Mrs. Megan Bongarten (Dr. Mark) Williams; and a great granddaughter, Isabelle Williams, both of Westcliff-on-Sea, England. He is also survived by sisters, Leatha Jones of Zanesville, Barbara Agin of Zanesville, and Camilla Wilson of Fultonham; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were sisters, Wandetta Bush and Iola Lew; and an infant brother, John Henry who died at birth.

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Aaron Phillips officiating.
