About | Herbert Paul Mautz, 92 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at his residence on June 13, 2018. Paul was born in Zanesville on January 3, 1926. He is the son of the late Herbert M. and Nora F. (Havens) Mautz. He worked for Dutro Ford and for Shelly and Sands as a Master Mechanic. He was an avid golfer, with a hole in one and he enjoyed bowling, with one 300 game. He also loved his Tribe and watched the Indians every day. He was a member of Central Trinity Church, a life member of the VFW Post #1058, and he served his country in the US Army, serving in the infantry during WW II in Europe. Paul is survived by his twin sons, Ronald (Molly) Mautz of Upper Arlington and Donald Mautz of Zanesville; his two granddaughters, Tammy (Daryl) Porter and Kristen (Kelly) Cook; six great-grandchildren, Korynn, Steven and Kelsey Porter, Titus, Chase and Kennedy Cook and his sister Faye Dunn. In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Virginia Ann Mautz, who passed away June 30, 2016, his daughter-in-law Kathy Mautz, and his sister Freda Durant. Visitations will be 10 to 11 am, Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. A memorial service will be held at 11 am with Pastor Mark Chow officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Duncan Falls Cemetery. Full Military Honors provided by the George Selsam VFW Post #1058 and American Legion Post #29. |
