About | Imogene Embrey Mautz Whitten, 90, of El Paso, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015. She was born to Eugene “Red” and Rilla Chaffin Embrey on September 30, 1925 in Zanesville, Ohio. Imogene graduated from Zanesville High School in 1943 and married Wayne Mautz Sr. in 1946. She and Wayne lived in Germany, Missouri, Texas, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Wisconsin, and Michigan while raising their two sons. Imogene was an accomplished bookkeeper and after her 1976 divorce, she worked as a legal secretary in El Paso until her retirement in 1993. She enjoyed bible study, sewing, baking, playing the piano and delighted in watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren flourish. Imogene is survived by her sons, Wayne (Jacy) Mautz Jr. of Colorado and Karl (Pamela) Mautz of Texas; grandchildren, Laura (Paul) Swank, Sean Mautz, Alyssa Mautz, and Brandon Mautz; and great-grandchildren, Kaden and Alea. In addition to her parents, Imogene was preceded in death by her husbands, Wayne Mautz Sr. and Ellwood Whitten. Calling hours will be held from 11:00am – 12:00pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will begin at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park with a reception at the First Christian Church of Zanesville. |
