About | Jack R. Hune, Ft Myers, FL passed peacefully at home on May 20th, 2024, at the age of 87 ¾ as he claimed with his family. Born October 10th, 1936, in Zanesville, Ohio to parents Raymond D. and Gladys Hune who have preceded him in death. He was married for 65 years to the love of his life the late JoAnne (Browning) Hune. They leave behind 8 children, Christy Hune (Columbus, Ohio), Jim Hune (Ft Myers, FL), Linda Glover (Ft Myers, FL), David Hune (Cape Coral, FL), Sue Sadler (Reno, NV), Carol (Grant) Arthur (Delaware, OH), John Hune (Scottsville, KY) and Mary (Jeff) Conley (Conroe, TX) plus 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Jack participated as a member of the Zanesville JayCee’s, Motor Menders Hot Rod Club, Fair Oaks Baptist Church, had a model railroad club and spent many years of coaching Y-City Little League Baseball in Zanesville, OH. He worked alongside his father for more than 40 years as owner of Hune Power Mower. After moving to Florida, he continued his love of model railroading, built extensive cities and rail systems and chronologized for 30 years the history of the US rail systems. He served as a Volunteer Board Member for the Lee County Library System. After participating in disaster relief in New Orleans post Katrina, Jack became a loyal donor to Samaritan’s Purse. |
