About Jackie Lynn Hollins, 65, of Zanesville, passed at 12:05 PM Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Genesis Hospice Care Center surrounded by family and friends. Jackie was born in Zanesville, Ohio on April 21, 1952 to Charles William and Charlene Green Hollins.
Jackie was a 1970 graduate of Zanesville High School. He was owner and operator of Hollins & Sons Refuse. He also worked at UPS, Brockway Glass, GE and Sciota Downs. Jackie was also head coach for South Rebels football team where he treasured the time he spent with his players, coaches, parents and fans.
Jackie leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Charlene Hollins; three sons, Shawn Hollins of Greensboro, NC, Shane (Abby) Hollins and Chathon (Amy) Hollins of Zanesville; one daughter, Shonda Howe of Columbus, OH; four brothers, Charles ‘Joey’ Hollins, Robin Hollins, Steven (Rhonda) Hollins all of Zanesville and Richard (Karyn) Hollins of Rockville, MD; two sisters, Vickie (Butch) Snoddy of Zanesville and Bobby Palmer of Columbus, OH; nine grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends and two special companions, Rocky and Stone, his beloved dogs.
Preceding him in death are, his father, Charles William Hollins; brother, Brian Keith Hollins; paternal grandparents, Sherman and Ida Mae Hollins; maternal grandparents, Charles and Virginia Green.
Calling hours will be Friday, May 12, 2017 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Burrell Funeral Services. Funeral to follow at 1 PM. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. On behalf of the family of Jackie Hollins, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation during this difficult time. We also would like to thank his doctors, nurses and the Genesis Hospice Care Center for the great care they provided for Jackie. A special thanks to Chathon and Amy Hollins for putting their life on hold to ensure that Jackie's last days were as peaceful as possible.
