| About | Arthur (Jim) Shumate age 91 yrs. of Sebring, Florida formally of Zanesville was called home on Sunday, January 2, 2022, to his final resting place with God. He passed away at 12:51 pm at Tampa General Hospital due to complications of a severe head trauma/stroke from a fall at the nursing home. Jim was the son of the late Arthur Roscoe & Amelia (Danhauer) Shumate. Born on September 06, 1930, in Zanesville. Jim was a 1948 graduate of Lash High School. He worked 40 years at United Technologies as a Production Control Manager until his retirement in 1994. Jim was a 32nd degree Mason, member of the Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rites, a 65-year member of LaFayette Lodge #79, & lifetime member of the Zanesville Amrou Grotto serving as Monarch in 1985. Jim was a very loving person, never met a stranger & through his humor brought many smiles & laughter. Though his presence upon this earth will be deeply missed, he was surely Heaven's gain. Preceding Jim was his loving wife Joan (Hooper) Shumate in 1994, his parents, son Jay Kim Shumate, Son-in-law Edward Cramer, daughter-in-law Marsha Shumate & sister, Eileen Moore. Surviving is son, James Craig (Karen) Shumate, daughters Kristie (John) Mills, Kathie (Allen) Milatovich, all of Zanesville & Jan Kay (Jim) Miller of Sebring, Florida. including numerous grandchildren, great & great-great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. |
