About Burnside Stubbins died February 21, 2012, while attending the Zanesville Concert Association Concert at Secrest Auditorium. He was born March 19, 1918, to Clarence Stubbins and Margaret Fenton Stubbins. He was an active licensed Attorney and CPA, and was associated with several Zanesville Professional Firms, most recently Stubbins, Watson & Bryan. He graduated from Lash High School in 1936, Ohio State University undergraduate in 1940, and Ohio State University Law School in 1943. The day after he was sworn in as a Lawyer, on March 17, 1943, he was on a train to Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He served in the Army as a Parachutist in the 82nd and 13th Airborne Divisions, and rose to the rank of Captain. He was called back to serve his Country during the Korean Conflict, serving as an Attorney in procurement in the Pentagon. He served on many Boards and charitable organizations, including the John McIntire Library, the State of Ohio Library, the Soldiers and Sailors Monumental Association, the Zanesville Art Center, and the Civil War Roundtable.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in law Brent and Susan and Mark and Kay, and by grandchildren Elizabeth, James, Grant, Kara, Amanda, and Blake.

His wife Ann, who he married September 9, 1950, died January 21, 2003. He was also predeceased by his twin brother, Warren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Muskingum County Bar Association Fund of the Muskingum County Community Foundation, 534 Putnam Avenue, the Zanesville Museum of Art, 620 Military Road or the Pioneer and Historical Society of Muskingum County, 115 Jefferson Street.

Interment to follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
