About | James E. Wilson, 75, of Zanesville, went to be with the Lord at 6:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Fairfield Medical Center, following a brief illness. He was born Tuesday, Jan. 17, 1933, in Zanesville, the son of Edwin and Anna Brandtman Wilson. He married Barbara Tate Wilson on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Jim retired in 1996 from Robert Neff & Sons Trucking Company following 40 years of service. He was a life member of Knights of Columbus, Council 505, and was a member AFLCIO Union. He is survived by his wife of the home; two step-daughters, Donna (Robert) Barker of South Zanesville and Geneva (Richard) Schmidt of Blue Rock; two step-sons, Robert Thompson of Glennville, Ga., and Donald Thompson of Zanesville; nine step-grandchildren, Robert Thompson Jr., Ben Thompson, Taylor Faircloth, Wanda Stanford, Crystal Curtis, Trisha Barker, Tiffany Barker, Jake Schmidt and Lakan Schmidt; and 12 step-great grandchildren, J.T. Roberts, Chase Roberts, Cole Roberts, Alessio Amato, Keely Thomas, J.C. Curtis, Nakia Barker, Caden Barker, Taylor Walker, Savannah Thompson, Payton Thompson and Evan Faircloth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Shell Wilson, who died on May 27, 1992; a step-son, Frank O. Thompson, who died in 1983; and a step-granddaughter, Pamela L. Roberts, who died in 2002. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at the Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave., where a Christian Vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Fr. Pius Pietzyrk as celebrant. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Jim's name. |
