About James “Jim” Robert Sharrer, 73, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020. He was born February 1, 1947 in Zanesville to the late Howard J. and Leona Bowers Sharrer.

Jim was a graduate of Zanesville High School and he formerly worked in sales for Rose Chemical and Heinrich Paper. He retired as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing from Varsity Title Services. Jim always had a love for people and a positive attitude. And when asked, “How are you doing Jim?” he always replied “I’m fantastic”. He was a member of the American Legion Post #29. He served his country and protected our freedom in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sargeant.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Lynda Kendrick Sharrer, who he married August 17, 1968; sons: James Robert “Rob” (Susan K. Elekes) Sharrer II and Ryan Kendrick Sharrer; a brother William “Bill” Sharrer; a sister Judy K. Mahle; four grandchildren: Mersadies Coles, Dominic Sharrer, James Sharrer III and Kate Sharrer; and his special little buddy, his dog, Cooper.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Rhett Christopher Sharrer; sister Betty Jackson; and his best friend and brother by choice Kurt Dittmar.
