About | James W. McCandlish, 58, of Zanesville, died Saturday, December 29, 2007, at James Cancer Center of Ohio State University in Columbus following a short battle with cancer. He was born on Wednesday, April 20, 1949, in Zanesville, the son of the late Francis William McCandlish and Mary E. Black McCandlish of Zanesville. Jim retired in 2004 as Zanesville High School Art teacher. After his family , his second love was coaching basketball for the Lady Devils. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Men's Thursday night Golf league at Green Vallley and then at Fuller's Golf Course. He also enjoyed watching his grandson in his sports activities. Jim is survivied in addition to his mother by his wife Rececca A. "Becky" Adams McCandlish, whom he marred on Saturday, July 29, 1972; three children, Matthew (Angela) McCandlish of Zanesville, Anastasia McCandlish of Columbus, and Mary Elizabeth "Libby" McCandlish of Zanesville; a grandson, Gavin McCandlish; a sister, Judy (Bob) Trout of Zanesville; a brother, Tom (Cindy) McCandlish o Worthington; two nieces, Jenny (Doug) Whetsell and Emma McCandlish; a nephew, Michael McCandlish; and his faithful pet dog "Snickers." Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. |
