About Jean D. Jackson was born on July 18, 1924 in Kirksville, Missouri, and passed away on November 29, 2018 at Adams Lane Care Center in Zanesville. Jean was the daughter of the late Dr. Harry R. Dysinger and Norma E. (Carmon) Dysinger.
She was a 1942 graduate of Lash High School and later received a degree from the Ohio State University. Jean was a member of the United Church of God. Jean and her husband, Tom, raised, trained and raced Standardbred horses for 57 years.
Jean is survived by two nephews, Rodney R. Dysinger and Mark W. Dysinger, both of Zanesville. Also surviving are a great niece Ashley Wilson and a great nephew Adam Black- who shares Jean’s love of horses.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Jackson; brothers, Hugh R. “Todd” Dysinger and Richard “Wayne” Dysinger. Wayne was a survivor of World War II’s “Death March of Bataan” and later died in a Japanese POW work camp in Mukden, Manchuria.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 4, 2018 with Funeral service to immediately follow at 1:00 PM at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. Burial will follow at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
