About | Jerry Otis Martin, II, 42, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023 at his home. Jerry was born September 17, 1980, the son of Jerry Otis and Diana Marie (Moorehead) Martin. Jerry is preceded in death by his beloved brother, Joel Martin; grandpa, Bobbie Martin; grandma, Edley Martin; great-grandpa, Donald Moorehead; uncles, Larry Martin and Otis Moses; and cousins, Jaylin Ware, Jade Moorehead and Courtney Liggett. Jerry leaves to mourn his passing, his loving parents, Jerry and Diana Martin; his beloved children, Kilynn, Evelynn and Jackson Martin; his step-son, Sean Perry; grandma, Carol Moses; grandpa, Donald (Mary Jo) Moorehead; aunts and uncles, Flora Martin, Terry (Connie) Martin, Gary (Chris Knapp) Martin, Cinny Martin, Gayla Ware, Sharon (Jeff) Burke, Ronald Moorehead, Brian (Amy) Moorehead and Andrea (David) Rutledge; a hoard of cousins; the mother of his children, Chrishia Martin; beloved pet dog, Rusty; and a host of other family and friends. Jerry was a smart and creative man. He was a graduate of Zanesville High School, class of 1998, where he was a member of the Blue Devil football team. In his free time, he loved to go on fishing excursions. Jerry enjoyed running the shot clock at AAU tournaments in his younger days. He was often known to keep the players in line. Jerry enjoyed working alongside his dad, completing many handyman projects together. He was a member of the Union Baptist Church, in Zanesville. Jerry loved life. He loved to crack jokes and make others laugh. He was the life of the party everywhere he went. Above all else, Jerry will be remembered as an excellent dad, who loved his children deeply. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to their MBH (Muskingum Behavioral Health) Family for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Union Baptist Church in Jerry’s honor. Services are pending at this time. They will be held at Union Baptist Church, 56 Eighth St., in Zanesville, at a later date. Dr. Reverend Ernest H. Dandridge officiating. Jerry will be laid to rest alongside his beloved brother Joel in Woodlawn Cemetery. |
