ZANESVILLE: Jo Ann West, 76, of Zanesville, died at 3:36 A.M. on Thursday September 29, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 31, 1940 in Zanesville, daughter of the late Joseph and Hattie Chaffin Strauss. Jo Ann was a hairdresser for over 50 years and still actively working at Maple Plaza Hair Center. She attended First Christian Church and was a 1958 graduate of Zanesville High School. She was a Past Matron of Eastern Star Chapter 485, Charter member of Zanesville Auxiliary of Fraternal Order of Eagles, past President of Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Past State Mother of Ohio State Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles.Surviving are her loving husband of 53 years Harry E. West; a daughter, Lisa (Brian) King; a son, John (Rebecca) West; two stepsons, Drew and Barry West; six grandchildren, Kyle (Arika) Clapper, Keri (David) Bay, Melissa (Trent) Nethers, Matthew (Megan Nader) King, Joshua West, Nicolas West; three great-grandchildren, Jaxson and Tenley Bay, and Kenzie Clapper: and one brother, Elbert "Bunk" (Sarah) Strauss.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Phillip, and Bob Strauss; two sisters, Betty Brooks and Donna Blaney.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 1, at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Rev. Dawn Remster and Dr. Herbert R. Hicks officiating. |
