ZANESVILLE Joan E. Mercer 81 of Zanesville, passed away Friday December 25, 2015 at her daughter's residence. She was born January 13, 1934 in Zanesville a daughter of the late John and Elsie Stotts Cornell. She was a homemaker and enjoyed many years of volunteering at Wilson Elementary School. Joan is survived by one son William Mercer of Delaware, OH; one daughter Nancy (Ted) Garber of Zanesville; three grandchildren Andrea Coulter, Heather Garber Lewis (Will) and Tanner Garber (Abby McIver); one great grandson Mason Lewis, many special nieces and nephews and many special friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Billie D. Mercer on February 18, 2015; one brother Leo Cornell and two sisters Doris Hunt and Delores Moore. Calling hours will be held from 2-6 on Wednesday December 30, 2015 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday December 31, 2015 in the Snouffer Chapel with Keith Taylor officiating. Entombment will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. |
