| About | John Christopher “Chris” Baker, 69 of Zanesville died at 3:15 AM Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the Adams Lane Care Center following a lengthy illness. He was born December 13, 1954 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of James David Baker I and Bonnie Jean Agin Baker. Chris graduated from Zanesville High School and received a Bachelor degree in accounting from RIT for the deaf, in Rochester, New York. He was employed at the United States Air Force Base in Newark, Ohio. He also worked part time for Baker’s Rentals. He was an avid painter. In his youth, Chris enjoyed all sports, he played Y-city Baseball for the Babe Ruth Team and made the Zanesville High School Varsity Golf team. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Chris loved playing cards at family gatherings, especially Euchre. He was a Catholic by faith and attended St. Nicholas Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his brother Jim Baker, brother-in-law Thomas Chappelear, and sister-in-law Ellen Baker. He is survived by his siblings Connie Chappelear, Kevin Baker, Patrick (Darlene) Baker, Carolyn (Mike) Boals, sister-in-law Judy (Steve) Fulmer and several nieces and nephews. Special mention of his life-long friend, Tammi Dusenberry. Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM with funeral service to follow at 2:30 PM Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home with Fr. Stephen Ondrey officiating. Burial will follow at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. |
