About | John F. Harris Jr., 74, of Zanesville, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at his daughter’s residence. He was born August 28, 1936, in Zanesville, a son of the late John Franklin Harris Sr. and Pauline D. Paul Harris Williams. He retired after 20 years of service as a janitor for Owens Brockway Glass. John loved bowling and fishing and had been a West Rangers Biddy League coach. Surviving are nine children, Jeffrey (Susan) Harris, John (Carol) Harris, Beverly (Kenneth) Dickinson, Deborah (John) Singleton, Carmen (David) Jackson, Donald (Lisa) Harris, Darrin (Brenda) Harris, Robert (Florence) Harris and Tera Harris, all of Zanesville; twenty seven grandchildren; thirty seven great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; a sister, Leshia Gillard of Columbus, Ohio and special friends, Butch Smith and Sam Mitchell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Edwards Harris, who died January 9, 2010 and two grandchildren, Desmond Goins and Tremayne Somers. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. A special thanks to his granddaughter, Kendra Horton, for the loving and special care she gave her grandfather. |
