About | John George Schultheis, 82, of Zanesville, peacefully passed away to be with the Lord and his Heavenly family at 6:15 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at Hospice in Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. John was born Dec. 10, 1926, in Zanesville, the son of the late George and Mary Elizabeth Myers Schultheis. A lifelong resident of Zanesville, John graduated from Lash High School and machinist school in 1946. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he also was a member of Golden Agers and the Fellowship Club. He loved to play tennis with What's The Score tennis team. John loved to repair clocks and violins. He was a machinist, gardener, woodworker and whatever he wanted to be. He had worked at Carl Rittberger Sr. Meats, Mosaic Tile and retired from Essex Wire in 1992. Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Delores "Dottie" Border Schultheis; sons: Kevin "Chuck" Schultheis of Johnstown and Dennis (Trix) Schultheis of Zanesville; daughter, Cheri (Tom) Dunn of Zanesville; granddaughters, Erin (Ben) Kinsey, Jamie (Jason) White and Jennifer (Tommy) Tracy; grandson, Matt Schultheis; stepgranddaughter, Michelle (Darrell) Hunt; stepgrandson, T.J. (Melissa) Dunn; nine great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Ann Border; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Soller; a brother, Charles Schultheis; a nephew, Steven Soller; and his father-in-law, Wilbur Border. Calling hours will be 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at Bryan & Snider Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave., and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 128 S. Seventh St., with Pastor Dan Sparling officiating.
