About | John William (Jack) Bonifield Jr., 70, of 3060 Dresden Rd., died Saturdy, January 5, 1985 in Bethesda Hospital. He was born February 12, 1914, in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late John W. and Ruby Thomas Bonifield St. He was the former owner and operator of the Bonifield Hardware Company until retirement in 1972. Mr. Bonifiled was a 60 year member of the Grace United Methodist Church, a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Trust Bank for 28 years and currently served on the Executive Committee of the Central Trust Bank. He was chairman of the Board of the Zanesville Metropolitan Housing Authority and Bonfield court was named in his honor. Also he was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Amity 5, the Zanesville chapter 9 Royal Arch Masons, the Zanesville Council 12 Royal and Select Masters, the Cyrene Commandery 10 Knights Templar, the Muskinum County Association of Ancient aned Accepted Scottish Rite Masons and the Zavi Shrine Club. Mr. Bonifield was a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks Lodge 114, the American Bankers Association, the United Commercial Travelers, Ducks Unlimited and the Zanesville Country Club. He attended Wittenberg University, where he was a member of the Phi Mu Delta Fraternity. Surviving are his wife, Jean Price Bonifield of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Deborah Price Weiner of San Francisco, CA; three sons, John Mark Bonifield of Rockville, MD, Richard D. Bonifield of Zanesville and John W. Schwab of Columbus; and one sister, Mrs. Walter (Betty) Robinson of Zanesville. |
