About | Joseph D. Denning, 82, of Zanesville, died at 9:04 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born March 2, 1929, in Zanesville, a son of the late William and Louise McKnaughton Denning. He was a graduate of Lash High School Class of 1949. Joe worked for David Davies for 20 years as a meat processor then retired from Racine Hydraulics . He was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ where he served as a Deacon. Joe was a marble champion, enjoyed basketball, softball, volleyball , golf, euchre and yard work. Surviving are his wife, Sally A. Morosko Denning, whom he married August 27, 1949, of the home; two daughters, Rebecca ( William) Scogin of Corpus Christi, Texas and Lesa (Michael) Meyer of Pataskala, Ohio; a son, Joseph J. Denning of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Emiliegh Stone of Austin, Texas, Robert, Sean , Thomas and Wesley Scogin of Austin, Texas; three sisters, Anna Crouch of Saulk Village, Ill., Bertha (Robert) McBride of Zanesville and Marilyn (James) McCarty of Zanesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Denning. Joe will be laid to rest at Muskingum Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Nashport, Ohio. |
