About Juanita Jardine Krause passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, after an extended illness. She was born on April 26, 1934, in Zanesville, Ohio, to John and Lila Poling Jardine. Juanita spent many summers of her childhood at her grandfather’s farm in West Virginia.

Juanita attended Lash High School, where she met the love of her life, Everett “Bud” Krause. They were both graduates of the class of 1952, and she and Bud were married on August 10, 1952.

Juanita was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader at Sheridan Elementary School for several years.

She was the first Teacher’s Aide hired by Zanesville City Schools, working the first two years at Grant School in the first grade, then transferring to Pleasant Grove Elementary School for the next 35 years, working in several grades, but her real love was working with the kindergarten students for the last 29 years. She retired as a Teacher’s Aide after 37-1/2 years.

Juanita was a member of The First Christian Church in Zanesville since 1951. She served as an Elder, Deaconess and Sunday School Teacher for several years. She was also a leader of the Senior High Youth Groups for several years. She was an active member of the Christian Women’s Ministries as the treasurer for 20 years.

Another passion of Juanita’s was planting and caring for the multitude of flowers that she planted every Spring. Her flowers were the envy of the neighborhood, which were in all shades of pinks, her favorite color.

After their retirement, Juanita and Bud enjoyed traveling to places like England, Hawaii, Alaska, and across the USA. They also loved spending lazy summer days with their family at Lake Isabella.

In addition to her husband of 72 ½ years, Juanita is survived by three children Debbie Spohn, Tim (Sandy) Krause and Lori (Ed) Ward. Six grandchildren Erin Haney, Matthew Krause, Eben (Danah) Stansbery, Kyle Krause, Kari Ward and Cody (Renee) Ward. Eight Great Grandchildren Jaden Krause, Brisa Krause, Bella Haney, Garrett Haney, Tucker Bruce, Liam Krause, Parker Ward, Preston Ward. A brother James Robert Jardine. Sister-in-laws Donna (Gerald) Jardine, Norma Jardine, and Donna (Johnie) Jardine. Brother and sister-in-law Paul and Sharon Krause. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter Sherry Federman. Son-in-laws Larry Spohn and Al Federman. Brothers Johnie Jardine, Gerald Jardine, and Larry Jardine.

In lieu of flowers, you may make memorial contributions in Juanita’s name to Shriver’s Hospice of Zanesville, Ohio; Save The Children Foundation; or any other organization helping children (Shriners, St, Jude).

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Additional visitation from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the First Christian Church where funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M with Pastor Laureen Roe officiating. Burial will conclude at Zanesville Memorial Park.
