| About | Judith Ann Russell, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Russell of Pinkerton Lane, died at Canton Mercy Hospital at 12:45 o'clock Monday afternoon of injuries sustained in a collision near Carrollton on Thanksgiving eve. Her death brought to five the number of victims in the mishap which Carroll County authorities described as the 'worst in the history of the county. ' Killed in the accident were Rev. and Mrs. Floyd Gale of Jacksontown, formerly of South Zanesville, and Allen Kohler, 44, of Kilgore, Ohio, Miss Sara E. Russell, 18, a sister, died last Friday of injuries sustained in the same accident. Miss Russell's mother, Ruth, 41, and a sister, Martha, 11, are recovering from injuries sustained in the collision. Judith sustained a severe skull fracture, broken leg and loss of an eye. She died without regaining consciousness. She was born Sept. 14, 1940. She was a sophomore at Zanesville High School. Miss Russell was a member of the South Zanesville Nazarene Church which was founded by her grandfather. She was a member of the G-Getters class at the church Sunday School. Surviving are her parents and her sister and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Russell of Zanesville Rt. 2. The body rests at the Forest Avenue chapel of the Mader-Peoples Funeral Home. Services for her sister, Sara, which were planned today were postponed until 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon when joint services will be held at the Forest Avenue chapel. Rev. W. R. Moore, pastor of the church. will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn. |
