About ZANESVILLE: Karen "Lucy" Lee Norris, Griffin, 63, was welcomed into the everlasting arms of God, on Friday, June 19, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family after following a lengthy illness. She was born February 23, 1952 and was the daughter of the late Virgil G. Norris and Mary E. (Fowler- Norris) Price of Zanesville.Lucy was a graduate of Zanesville High School. She was employed at Good Samaritan Hospital as a dietary supervisor 4 years. A past employee of the Zanesville Day Nursery of 11 years; and finished her employment history as the kitchen supervisor at the Maysville Ponderosa Steak House of 18 years. She undoubtedly enjoyed preparing food that all could be fed. Lucy had a special way of bringing people close to her from all walks of life through her cooking and dynamic personality. She was an active member and warrior of the Church of God and Saints of Christ, Tabernacle Number 2. She served on the board of trustees and the Daughter's of Jerusalem and Sister of Mercy Store house committee. She spear headed the project of the Church's first clothes give away project. She too, like her mother, was devoted in the church kitchen working tireless and countless hours organizing and supporting numerous dinners as fund raising events. She not only served in the local kitchen but traveled to serve as a kitchen worker in Belleville,Virginia. Her responsibilities ranged from working on the food service line to the night time shift prep cook along side her husband during the church gatherings. She was extremely passionate about people and provided a safe haven to all that entered her home. She truly exemplified a worker in the vine yard of the Lord. She is survived by her husband (of a 41 year of marriage since) July 14, 1973 to Ernest H. Griffin II; two daughters, Treasure Griffin of Mt. Vernon, NY and Mary Griffin of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, one son, Ernest Griffin III of Zanesville; two grandchildren, Natasha Burrell and Elijah Griffin of Reynoldsburg; five sisters, Linda S. and (Howard) Brent of Laurel, MD, Veronica "Kicky" and (James "Butch") Smith of Zanesville, Jessie Y. Price-Beale and (Daniel) Beale of Endwell, NY, Rita E. Price-McKenzie of Norcross, GA, and Shelia A. Price-Norris of Columbus, Ohio; and four brothers, Virgil and (Beverly) Norris, Andrew M. Price and Thomas and (Roxanne) Price all of Zanesville, Forest Aber of Newark, Ohio; three godsons, Howard Brent, Aaron W. Norris and Andrew Price and one goddaughter, Keturah Brent-Collins; three aunts, Icyle Brent, Mary Hughes of Zanesville and Jean Price of Milwaukee, WI; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; a special friend, Tammy Bearden and her special pet, PEPPER.Preceding her in death were both parents, a second-father, Jesse D. Price, a younger brother, Anthony Lee Price, and a loving mother-in-law, Sheba Griffin. Viewing will be Friday, June 26, 2015 beginning at 10 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at the Church of God and Saints and of Christ, 516 Cliffwood Ave. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
