Kay D. Swingle, 76 of Zanesville, died 8:20 PM Saturday, March 21, 2009 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born Sunday, July 10, 1932 in Zanesville, the daughter of Herbert and Thelma Holder Watson. She married Earl B. Swingle on Saturday, September 30, 1950. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Mrs. Swingle previously owned and operated The Hermitage Farm Gift Shop. She was a member of The Green Thumb Garden Club for over 50 years. She also was a member of Chautauqua Reading Club and the Circle I group of St. John’s She is survived by two daughters: Erin Swingle Carney (Greg) of Zanesville and Karen Kay Moore (Richard) of Norwalk; one son: Eric B. (Debbie) Swingle of Zanesville; three grandchildren: Emily Brie Carney, Amanda Moore and Lindsey Swingle; A special 1st cousin: Susie (Paul) Shannon and special care givers: Carol Hamilton and Sandy Beers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband. Visitation will be 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM Tuesday, March 24, at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM in the Chapel, at St. Johns Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Combs officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park. |
