About | L. Pauline Cooper, 89, formerly of Gorsuch Rd., Nashport, went to be with her Lord at 10pm Sunday, December 19, 2004, from the Newark Healthcare Center, Newark. She was born May 21, 1915, in Zanesville, the daughter of the late Harley and Florence Leasure Paynter. She was a lifelong resident of the Zanesville area and a 1932 graduate of Lash High School. She worked in various sales positions including, Cussins & Fearn, Montgomery Ward, Jan's and Emerson. She also managed the Diana Shop at the Country Fair Shopping Center. Mes. Cooper was a 70 year member of the Richavle Grange, Pomona Grange and the State Grange. She served on many committees and hel various offices including some at the state level. She belonged to the 50 Club, a social group started in the 1950's. She enjoyed cooking, fishing and dressing up for Halloween and community days. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and will always be remembered for making and distributing Divinity Fudge and pumpkin cookies. Surviving are her sister; Dola Todd; nieces, Sherry (Art) Hempfling, Sue Edwards, Sandy (Dean) Kelly, and Jane (Bill) Harrier; al of Zanesville, and Marcy (Bill) Bickley of Texas; and nephews, Gary (Joyce) Appleman, and Bill (Carolyn) Todd; stepdaughters, Carol Ann (Carl) Snider, Tacy (Dean) Sarbaugh of Zanesville, and Jane (Bill) Thomnpson of Florida; a brother- in- law, John (Betty) Cooper; a cousin, Frances Blackstone of Zanesville, and a special neighbor and friend, Lester Riley of Nashport. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Kenneth Hughes; her second husband Kenneth Cooper; and her sister Louise Appleman. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. |
