About | Lana May Zellar Boots, age 77, a resident of Glendale, Arizona, joyfully went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 2, 2020. Born September 8, 1942, in Zanesville, Ohio, Lana was the beloved eldest daughter of the late Genevieve (Ross) Zellar and Attorney Jay B. Zellar. Lana graduated from Zanesville High School. Lana married Guy Boots in 1970 and relocated to sunny Phoenix, Arizona,where she resided until her death. Retired after many years of service as a key punch operator for the State of Arizona Department of Revenue, Lana trained on some of the first computers ever put into service. Lana was preceded in death by her husband Guy Boots, loving mother Genevieve (Ross) Zellar and father Atty. Jay B. Zellar. Lana is survived by three sisters, Martha Zellar of Zanesville,Ohio, Crystal and Steve (Hinkle) Zellar of Granville, Ohio, Sally and Ted (Zellar) Hoey of Hilton Head Island, S. C. Lana has one niece, four nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Southeastern Ohio. She also leaves behind her special friends and pastor, Ed and Susan Ware and long time friends John and Linda Taylor. Lana was a lifetime member of True Vine Baptist Church in Glendale, Arizona, where she faithfully attended services and served the Lord. Lana will be fondly remembered for her outspoken, vivacious personality. She loved to joke and make people laugh. Her laugh will be missed by all who knew her. Lana loved the beauty and weather in the southwest, especially Arizona, where she has resided for the past forty five years. Lana dedicated her life to God and encouraged others to explore the beauty of the gospels. Lana will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator. A private family ‘celebration of life’ ceremony will be held at a later date. Lana will be laid to rest next to her mother at the Duncan Falls Cemetery. The family would like to thank Vicky’s Loving Home staff for their love and caregiving. Lana’s Pastor and very special friends Ed and Susan Ware of True Vine Baptist Church, Glendale, Az., were with Lana through many trials. Her family will forever be grateful for their kindness and faithful service. The family gratefully declines flowers and donations, but prayers, condolences and memories are gladly accepted. |
